Howard’s Way is home to the only bar overlooking Rothesay Bay with a licensed patio to serve alcohol to both its guests and the public.
We have stunning en-suite rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, free WIFI and flat screen televisions for your enjoyment.
We are frequently graced by the last seagoing passenger-carrying paddle steamer in the world, the PS Waverley sailing past frequently.

Howard’s Way has a fully licensed bar with an extensive drink selection for you to choose from. Sip a drink from our bar whilst you enjoy the grand view from the ultimate comfort of our sea view patio area. Our hotel houses the only bar on the sea front with a licensed patio to serve alcohol to both its guests and the public, overlooking Rothesay Bay (Please note that our bar closes at 10 for the convenience of other guests).

Located within walking distance of the beautiful waterfront, Howard’s Way Guest House offers incredible views across Rothesay Bay. We are also ideally located to explore all the Isle of Bute has to offer.
There is a multitude of things to see and do in the surrounding areas. As well as enjoying the exceptional sea views you can go sightseeing at local historic sites and gardens. There are many castles and cathedrals in the area and museums and breweries for your enjoyment too. If you would like to do something more active you can go cycling, sailing or fishing, and we have 3 golf courses in the area too. Or why not enjoy a drink at a one of the local bars.
